Welcome Rain and a Strange Forecast

The Met Office forecast for us was right for Saturday as we had spells of rain on and off throughout the day with some thunder late afternoon/early evening but without the storm if you get my drift.
Saturday’s rain amounted to 8.6mm bringing our monthly total up to 60.8mm which is above average for the month. At least the allotment shouldn’t need watering for a few days.

The forecast for Sunday is unusual in that the hourly details are for cloudy conditions or for sunny spells. In the evening a couple of hours are indicated as a light showers day. All that seems reasonable except that we are in a yellow warning area for possible heavy thundery showers which might develop at any time through the day leading to localised flash flooding or of course some areas might stay dry all day. Not much of a forecast as I don't see how it can be wrong with all bases covered from no rain to flash flooding.

  1. I think the weather forecasters cover all bases. It was supposed to be raining between 3 and 8 here today but all we've had is a shower, it's lovely and sunny again now.

    1. In the end we've had a nice summers day not at all like the forecast. No rain at all.

  2. The weather forecast has made me laugh, they do like to keep their options open. We had tons of rain yesterday, the allotment was beautifully watered when we went there earlier.

    1. Dug a few potatoes and the ground was still very dry so I did some watering.

  3. Been saying it for years. Best to stick your head out of a window than follow the latest forecast. People living around the med will soon be coming over here on their holidays and we will have no trouble growing such things as pineapples and bananas down the plot. Sub-tropical England, not long now.

    1. Still got to master tomatoes before moving on to pineapples. Dug our banana trees up last week.
