Good Value

Thursday continued the mild spell of weather. It was another day where the day’s high temperature just made it into double figures reaching 10.3°C. The downside of the mild conditions is that the days are dull and drab without any signs of sunshine.

Our next door neighbour’s summer bedding geraniums are still going strong and seemed to have coped well with the couple of nights of below zero temperatures we've had to date.
Planted close to the house wall and beneath a bay window they’re getting a little bit of extra protection from the weather but certainly providing good value when summer bedding is still flowering at the end of November.

  1. Lovely geranium. I remember seeing a pink one in an orangery a while back that was about six foot tall. Beautiful. Thought you might like to know that I bought two sledges today, so we can be almost guaranteed that there won't be any snow for about six years.

    1. Were they a "Black Friday" deal. If I thought it would cut down on our chances of getting snow I might buy a couple of sledges myself. My snow planning is to bring my wellies home from the allotment for winter - just in case!

    2. No, not Black Friday, I just saw them in Tesco and thought I'd buy them while I saw them. I find that if you wait until it snows, it's too late - there are none to be found for love nor money.

    3. Same thing happens with wellies too. I left it too late a couple of years ago. Not a welly to be bought anywhere.

  2. Beautiful geranium. Is the geranium stand on in the winter time?

    1. Once the weather turns really cold it will kill the geranium. January and February are usually our coldest months so it might survive a few more weeks.
