Lockdown Day 47 - Gardeners' World - Was It From Last Year?

We watched Gardeners' World last night and we were amazed to see Monty Don in his garden with the rain pouring down. Monty explained how it had rained all night and most of the day. He planted out a few plants and commented that they didn't need watering in as the ground was very moist.
Well, that's certainly not the case where we live. We haven't had any proper rain since the middle of March. April was one of the driest months I've recorded in over ten years of keeping weather records. May is continuing in the same vein as April as so far we've managed just 0.6mm (0.02in) of rainfall. The ten day forecast doesn't suggest anything more than the possibility of an odd shower.

Temperature & Rainfall Records - Last 4 weeks
It looks like we are going to be busy watering the allotment. Hopefully, we will get some rain before the allotment begins to fill up as we head into the main growing season.
