RHS Harlow Carr’s Roses

We set off for a visit to RHS Harlow Carr near Harrogate just before lunchtime. It had been a dull morning and it started to rain lightly as we set off.
Luckily that was the last of any rain we saw and the day cleared as we headed into North Yorkshire. We managed some very pleasant sunny spells in the afternoon as we had a leisurely stroll around the gardens.

These are my best pictures of some of the roses on flower at Harlow Carr.

My favourite is the first one “Shropshire Lass” a climbing rose. It’s on my wish list at any rate.

  1. that opening picture is a classic and how nice to have a landscape on your blog I heartily approve.

  2. I haven't been a lover of roses until the last two or three years and now I have three in my garden and more on my wishlist. I like the first two of these five, the last three are too fussy for me.

    1. The trouble with my favorite is it just has the one flowering period. A small price to pay for such a lovely rose. I like the red single flower two.

  3. My favourite is the third rose down (fourth picture down) - the one that looks like cream - beautiful. Glad it was dry for you and that you had a good visit.

    1. I'm in a phase where I prefer the single flowers at the moment CJ but I still like all four flowers.
