I've often fancied having a go at growing a fig, but they don't seem very reliable in this country. If we were guaranteed summers like we're having at the moment they may stand a better chance.
As our fig hadn't done very well over the last few summers I decided to leave it in the greenhouse this year. I'm still not sure we will actually get any ripe figs although there are lots of fruits on the bush. It does make a nice looking bush though.
Perhaps I should leave in the greenhouse next year to see if it provides us with a good summer spell of weather.
